Exciting Opportunity! Branagh in Belfast

Branagh in Belfast

On the 30th January 2018 Sir Kenneth Branagh will be awarded Freedom of the City in Belfast’s Ulster Hall. TheatreNI, in partnership with Belfast City Council, is thrilled to be able to offer 16 places to new and emerging theatre-makers, representatives from new and emerging companies and youth theatre practitioners or participants, to attend the special ceremony when the Belfast-born actor will officially receive the honour. Sir Kenneth, currently President of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), is well known for his high-profile work across the film and TV sector – most recently treading the Belfast boards in a production of The Painkiller at the Lyric Theatre in 2011. The lucky 16 will be decided via a lottery.

“This is an incredible honour from my home town and I am humbled to be included in a roll call that includes artists like Van Morrison and Michael Longley.”
