Join BBC Writers in Belfast on Wednesday 20th November to get your drama script ready for Script Room.
The Script Room is the BBC Writersroom’s biggest scheme, receiving thousands of script submissions during every window. But what is the scheme all about? Why does it attract so much interest? And most importantly, how do you secure a place in the group?
Whether you have a script but aren’t sure if the scheme is right for you, are thinking of submitting but need guidance with the final polish, are planning a script for a later window or simply want to find out more about the scheme, this session will provide you with all the information that you will need ahead of the submission window opening.
Amira El Nemr (BBC Writersroom Development Producer), Nigel Hastings (Script Room Producer) and Greer Ellison (graduate of the Drama Room 2018 group) will guide you through the process, provide insights into the scheme and answer all your questions. Find out:
– What the reading panel look for in a script
– How to make your work stand out from the thousands of other submissions
– What the most common mistakes that writers make
– What to expect if selected for the scheme
– What doors the scheme can (and has) opened for participants
The talk will start at 6pm (doors open from 5:30pm) and finish at 7:30pm followed by an opportunity for networking. The event will end at 8:30pm.
