The MAC are offering small bursaries of £800 for up to six artists who work in live performance to explore a new idea – perhaps one they haven’t had the space, resource or time to explore before. It’s a moment to encourage a bit of risk taking in a supported environment. The successful applicants will, along with the bursary, have space in the MAC if useful, coaching from core staff, and be able to present their idea at our inaugural scratch night.
The deadline is Friday 20th March, but with that in mind applicants should not to overthink their proposal. The application itself isn’t too onerous and given it’s an opportunity for a new and unresolved idea, it’s likely there might not be a huge amount to say.
This is about risk taking and an opportunity to try something and share those findings, whether it ‘works’ or not. This is an opportunity where failure is welcome.
