Member Assistance Programme

We are pleased to announce that as part of our TheatreNI Membership Benefits you will now be able to access our Membership Assistance Programme with Inspire Workplaces.

Advocacy

TheatreNI represents its members’ interests, building partnerships across the cultural sector to give theatre and the performing arts a strong united voice and increase recognition of its important role in society. Read more about our advocacy work.

Access NI

TheatreNI are pleased to share that our members can avail of AccessNI checks. These checks are processed through Causeway Volunteer Centre. A £10 administration fee will be added to the cost of the AccessNI check. Bursaries

TheatreNI offers a number of bursaries to members. Available bursaries will be profiled on the TheatreNI website and information will be disseminated through our various social media platforms as they become available.

Training

TheatreNI delivers training courses and other learning and development opportunities with discounts exclusively for members. Our training courses have been developed following a comprehensive Training Needs Analysis that TheatreNI initiated in early 2016, as well as on the findings from our research into the Sustainability of the Theatre and Performing Arts Sector, conducted in 2016/2018.  Upcoming events and training courses are listed on the Events section of our website

Workshops

TheatreNI provides opportunities for youth theatre companies to receive skills development workshops with professional theatre and performing arts companies. Read more about recent initiatives.

Tourbook

Developed in Scotland by think.in.form, the  purpose of Tourbook is to support performers, promoters and programmers in presenting work, creating work for makers and artists, giving more audiences opportunities to participate in the arts and diversifying the offer for those who programme performing arts. In 2017, Theatre Forum and Theatre NI, funded by the Arts Council/AnChomhaírle Ealaíon, brought  Tourbook to the island of Ireland.

Tourbook helps performers in dance, theatre, music, comedy and more connect with promoters and venues. It is the place to showcase your work, discover new acts, find venues and audiences you never knew existed and make new connections in places near and far.

Who is Tourbook for?

Tourbook brings together a community of all those working in the performing arts to put great shows on stages everywhere – from temporary stages in community venues to main houses.

The platform is built for promoters, performers, programmers, venue managers, agents and industry networks and does not distinguish between unpaid or paid roles, temporary or permanent venues. The only criteria for being part of the community is that you contribute to making professional live performances happen. Join Tourbook here.

Captioning Service

TheatreNI helps to increase access to theatre and the performing arts through its captioning service. TheatreNI members pay no hire fee for use of our captioning equipment.  Read more about our captioning service.

Freelancers’ Directory

TheatreNI members can upload their details directly onto the ‘Freelancers’ Directory’. Its purpose is to provide a platform for freelance theatre and performing arts focused practitioners and consultants to advertise their skills to potential employers. View the Directory.

All-Ireland Performing Arts Conference

Annually we join our conference partners Theatre Forum to bring artists from across the island of Ireland together to hear from key industry figures at our All-Ireland Performing Arts Conference. TheatreNI members receive an exclusive discounted rate for the conference.

All-Island Youth Theatre Symposium

Since 2016, We have organised the annual Youth Theatre Symposium with our partners Youth Theatre Ireland.

Networking Meetings

TheatreNI hosts meetings that offer opportunities for members to comment on, advise and influence current and future programmes of work, whilst also providing an informal and welcoming networking environment to gain mutual support. Read more about networking.

E-Zine

TheatreNI keeps you up to date with the latest news from our sector through our regular e-bulletins, with information about TheatreNI activities, job vacancies, auditions, project tenders, funding and events. Members are also welcome to submit any news or opportunities to be included in these monthly newsletters. Please send details to projects@theatreni.org.
