Destination CQ is making a commission available to a Belfast-based artist working in outdoor signage, sign-writing, street art, graffiti art, or large-scale illustration to create some new, fun and colourful temporary signage for the outside of the Cathedral Quarter Managed Workspaces Building at 109-113 Royal Avenue.
The building, which houses a multitude of local arts and community organisations, is currently covered by scaffolding and temporary hoardings while some much-needed repairs take place.
We are looking for an artist to use these hoardings as a canvas to create new signage to remind people that the organisations inside, which include Atypical Gallery, Belfast International Arts Festival and Belfast Pride Festival, among many others, are still there and open for business!
The commission is worth £500 including materials, and we are asking artists to submit their CV and 3 examples of similar past sign-writing/illustration/street art work to Destination CQ BID at Projects@destinationcq.com by 12pm Friday April 26th.
Applicants must be available to complete the work by Wednesday May 8th .
