QUEER ARTS DEVELOPMENT LEADER
Part time, three year contract
Outburst is looking for a part time Queer Arts Development Leader who will get people excited about queer art, film and queer creative thinking, past and present, and support the professional development of queer and LGBTQ+ artists in Northern Ireland. Working closely with our Artistic Director and team at our Belfast office, you will lead on the development and delivery of a year-round programme to support sharing, thinking, talking and creating around queer art, performance & film.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
The Queer Arts Development Leader will be passionate about getting all kinds of people excited about queer art, queer cinema and queer ideas. You’ll really need to know your stuff around art, film, performance, theatre, writing, music and pop culture so you can come up with engaging ways to explore queer creative ideas. You might have a specialist interest in one or two areas but will love art in general and have excellent knowledge and understanding of queer arts history, thinking and practice across all disciplines.
We’re looking for a reliable self-starter who has fresh, exciting ideas and a strong commitment to Outburst’s aims and bold queer ethos; someone who’ll enjoy the being part of a small team with big notions and who is excited to support the growth of queer art and artists here in Northern Ireland.
