The Crescent Arts Youth Theatre

The Crescent Arts Youth Theatre celebrates the end of a thrilling year and another success at the National Theatre Connections Festival.

On 5 and 6 May, the Crescent Arts Youth Theatre (CAYT) took part in the UK’s largest celebration of Youth Theatre; the National Theatre’s Connection Festival. Hosted by the Lyric Theatre, this was the third time in five years that the group has performed in the festival.

Across 3 days, the group had the chance to participate in various professional workshops and nine talented Youth Theatre Groups, from across the Island of Ireland, had the opportunity to perform a play that had been specially written for the festival. CAYT’s performance of When They Go Low, written by Natalie Mitchell, sold out and received a standing ovation by an enthusiastic audience.

Many of the talented Crescent Arts Youth Theatre members are set to leave for University at the end of the summer with new places becoming available.
