We are delighted to welcome our two Membership Development Interns, funded through the Queen’s University Belfast Employer Engagement Programme. Over the coming weeks Catherine and Rachel will be assisting us in evaluating and developing our offer to our members!
Catherine is currently a postgraduate student at Queens University Belfast studying a Masters in Arts Management. She is passionate about the current cultural policy that is in place for the Arts in Northern Ireland and through her course has developed an interest in business, advocacy and lobbying for the Arts.
Having obtained a Bachelor of Music degree with Honours from Queens University, Catherine’s studies took her to Dublin where she embarked in Orchestral Conducting at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. Through gaining these qualifications, Catherine has been the Artistic director of choirs in Northern Ireland, worked alongside charities such as; The Flax Trust and has co-ordinated events with renowned Artists such as Barry Douglas and Camerata Ireland.
“TheatreNI has allowed me to incorporate my academic theoretical learning into a thriving and busy arts management practice. This is an experience that I know will help me to develop my skills in a real life business situation and I look forward to learning more through my time here”
Rachel is currently studying a Masters in Broadcast Literacy at Queen’s University Belfast, following her undergraduate BA (Hons) degree in History. She is heavily involved in musical theatre in Belfast, having performed since she was five. Rachel currently choreographs for Belvoir Players and Ravara Productions and is performing Grease in the Grand Opera House with Ulster Operatic Company this October.
“I am very excited to join the team at Theatre NI and grateful for the opportunity to be able to work and learn within a sector that I am extremely passionate about!”
